The third and final post dedicated to Robin Hobb book covers. This last one was harder than I expected. I decided to organize this post by the country / publisher / cover artist. I hope it makes sense.
In short there are 3 places in the UK and the US that publish Hobb books. Harper Collins and Harper Voyager (it's probably just one publishing house anyway) in the UK and Bantam Spectra in the US. Harper Collins / Voyager use John Howe and Jackie Morris as cover artists, while Bantam Spectra use Stephen Youll and Michael Whelan. If you have any correction, please let me know. Now that I've bored you enough, here's some art:

Here's where it gets interesting and a bit confusing. Bantam Spectra publishing house changed their cover artist from Michael Whelan to Stephen Youll after Royal Assassin. I couldn't find any information regading the change. I do know that Hobb liked Whelan's work, she said so herself. So I wonder why did Bantam Spectra fire/replace Whelan half-way through the Farseer trilogy. Don't get me wrong, I love Youll's work, but Whelan wasn't doing such a shabby job either.
This is another issue I had: According to The Plenty, Youll only illustrated Assassin's Quest, Ship of Magic, Mad Ship, Ship of Destiny, Fool's Errand and the Golden Fool. Not Fool's Fate. It was surprisingly hard to find any information on Bantam Spectra's cover artists, so it took some time for me to check it. I generally trust The Plenty, but this turned out to be a mistake. Stephen Youll illustrated all RotE books starting from Assassin's Quest.
