Favorite books from childhood: volume I

Astrid Lindgren
Mio, My Son

This was probably my most beloved book when I was a kid. Even now I remember it with great warmth. Astrid Lindgren is one of the best children's authors of all time. She's perhaps most famous for: Pippin Londstocking and Karlsson-on-the-Roof.

Tove Jansson
Comet in Moominland

It's the second in the series of Tove Jansson's Moomin books. They're just as enjoyable for adults as they are for children. I love the illustrations.

Eno Raud
Three funny friends

I remember the day my mother brought this book home. Along with some chocolate treats. It caught her eye because it was a large hardcover with a very colorful cover - probably the same reason I remember it so well. I also remember it because it looked like a pricey book (which it was). It wasn't one our family could easily afford. It ended up being one of my absolute favorites. It's probably the only book that my dad actually followed me around with, asking me to listen to him read it, because he loved it as much as I did.
