Scott Campbell

Making his major exhibition debut in London, New York-based tattoo artist Scott Campbell recently opened his latest exhibition, entitled “Always Almost There”, at the Lazarides Gallery. The show featured Campbell’s signature style in the form of laser etching on multi-layered creations. “Always Almost There” runs through October 30th, 2009. from Hypebeast

As a side-note: the exhibition is based London; it's illegal to deface currency in the US. Also, it's been suggested the notes aren't real. Similarly to Lucille Moroni, Campbell is using a 'controversial' medium. Whatever the concept, it's the material that makes the real impact.

While it's obviously not possible to reach this level of accuracy with a knife, I wonder if one can create the layers with one.
